Volunteer Internships available at Living Sharks Museum!

Join the team at Living Sharks Museum! We are an ever-growing, educational outreach center open year-round! Interns learn how to become public-facing educators while immersing in history, conservation and research projects. Development of skills in these areas can lead to paid opportunities.


INTERNship Preferences:

Seeking students in marine science, with a preference given to elasmobranchs. Interns should have a proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel, Google Docs, Social Media and Website builders a plus. Comfortable (or willing to build science communication skills) engaging the public in a museum setting as well as off-site events as an assistant, educator and representative of Living Sharks Museum. Should be professional and adaptable, motivated self-starter, ability to stay on task and complete tasks on time, on or off-site. Should possess a willingness to learn and make the most of an opportunity.

Internships are unpaid, volunteer opportunities, available to students (preference given to elasmobranch-focused majors). Evaluations will be completed at the end of each duration (10 weeks) for consideration of future opportunities. Internships will be performed onsite at Living Sharks Museum, Westerly RI. In accordance with Covid precautions, internships may at times be completed remotely.
